What Is a Registered Advertising Database (Annonsdatabas, Sweden)?

In Sweden, procurements under LOU, LUF and LUK must be published in an advertising database (annonsdatabas) registered with Upphandlingsmyndigheten. The databases forward notices above the EU thresholds to TED and give everyone free access to the notices.

Why are there several advertising databases?

There is no single state database for Swedish procurements. Several private operators run registered advertising databases, and each organisation chooses which one to use, so suppliers need to monitor several databases or use a service that gathers the notices.

How do the advertising databases connect to TED?

Notices for procurements above the thresholds are forwarded from the registered advertising database to TED, the EU's common notice database.

What does an advertising database need to be registered?

It must meet the legal requirements and be registered with the responsible Swedish authority. Among other things, notices must be freely available to the public and data must be passed on to the national procurement statistics.
