What Is an Associated Person?
An organisation a supplier relies on to meet the conditions of participation — such as a parent company or partner — and intends to use to deliver the contract.
When does a supplier rely on an associated person?
When it cannot meet a condition of participation on its own, for example a turnover requirement met through a parent company, or experience provided by a partner who will deliver part of the work.
Is an associated person checked by the buyer?
Yes. The buyer checks associated persons against the exclusion grounds, and if one is excluded the supplier may need to replace it or be excluded itself.
Can the buyer require a guarantee?
Yes. Where a supplier relies on another organisation's financial standing, the buyer can require that organisation to guarantee performance of the contract.
