What Is B2G (Business-to-Government)?

Business conducted between a company and the public sector, as distinct from B2B (business-to-business) or B2C (business-to-consumer) trade.

How does B2G differ from B2B?

In B2G, the purchase is governed by procurement law. The customer must put the contract out to competition, requirements and evaluation must be known in advance, and all suppliers must be treated equally. In B2B, the parties negotiate freely.

Can small businesses win B2G contracts?

Yes. Many procurements are divided into lots or fall below the thresholds, and companies can bid jointly or rely on other companies' capacity to meet the requirements.

How do you find B2G opportunities?

By monitoring notices in the registered advertising databases and in TED, often using a tender monitoring service that gathers the notices in one place.
