What Is the Civil Engineering Subcommittee (HAT, Germany)?
This is a German procurement term. A subcommittee of the DVA for civil-engineering matters.
What is the HAT?
The Hauptausschuss Tiefbau, a subcommittee of the DVA responsible for the parts of the VOB relating to civil engineering: roads, pipelines, earthworks and similar.
What does it do?
It drafts and updates the technical rules in the VOB/C for civil engineering trades.
Why does it matter to suppliers?
Its rules define the standard technical requirements in civil engineering contracts, which apply unless the tender documents say otherwise.
