What Is a Tender Comparison Table (Vertailutaulukko, Finland)?
This is a Finnish procurement term. A document in which the contracting authority sets out how bids have been scored against the comparison criteria.
What does a comparison table show?
The score each bid received against each comparison criterion, the resulting total, and a justification of why bids were scored as they were. It is the document that explains how the winner was chosen.
Is the comparison table public?
Procurement documents are public as a rule once the decision has been made, so bidders can generally obtain it. Individual trade secrets within a bid can still be withheld, but a bidder always has the right to see how its own bid was scored.
Why does the comparison table matter to a supplier?
It is the first place to look when deciding whether to appeal, and it shows exactly where points were lost — which is the most useful information you can carry into the next tender.
