What Is a Contingency Item (Bedarfsposition, Germany)?
This is a German procurement term. A service item that is only carried out if a specific need arises during execution.
What is a Bedarfsposition?
A line item that the bidder prices but which is only carried out if a need arises during execution, for example extra excavation if the ground turns out to be unsuitable.
Is it included in the evaluation?
The tender documents must say how. Contingency items are often included at their full price, sometimes only partly, and must not be used to disguise the real scope.
Can the buyer add contingency items freely?
No. The rules limit their use, because too many of them make bids hard to compare and shift risk to bidders.
