What Is the Contract Volume (Auftragswert, Germany)?
This is a German procurement term. The estimated total value of a contract, decisive among other things for whether the threshold values apply.
How is the Auftragswert estimated?
As the total value excluding VAT over the whole contract period, including all options, extensions and any prizes or payments to participants.
Why does it matter?
It decides whether the EU thresholds are reached, and therefore whether the GWB and the review procedure apply. It also sets the required deadlines and publication.
Can a contract be split to stay below the threshold?
No. Splitting a procurement to avoid the rules is prohibited. Division into lots is allowed, but the lots are added together for the threshold.
