What Is EVB-IT (German Standard IT Contract Terms)?
This is a German procurement term. Standardised contract terms for the procurement of IT services by public bodies in Germany.
What are the EVB-IT?
Standard contract terms for IT procurement by public bodies in Germany, agreed between the federal government and the IT industry association Bitkom. There are versions for purchase, services, maintenance, systems and cloud.
Are they mandatory?
Federal bodies must use them. States and municipalities generally do. Bidders rarely get to negotiate them.
Why do they matter to suppliers?
Because the same terms appear in most public IT tenders. Knowing them lets a supplier price risk without re-reading the contract each time.
