What Is Green Procurement (Grønne anskaffelser, Norway)?

This is a Norwegian procurement term. Public purchasing where the buyer sets climate and environmental requirements to reduce environmental impact.

How are environmental requirements built into a competition?

As minimum requirements in the specification, as award criteria that score environmental performance, or as contract terms on how the delivery is to be carried out. Often all three.

What evidence do suppliers need?

Environmental product declarations, certifications, emissions data and documentation of transport and materials. A requirement referring to a specific label must also accept equivalent evidence.

How does this relate to the 30 percent rule?

The rule sets a minimum weighting for climate and environment in competitions subject to the publication duty, so environmental performance now carries a significant share of the score in most Norwegian competitions.
