What Is NUTS / NUTS Code?
An EU system for the uniform identification of regions.
What is a NUTS code used for?
Identifying the region where a contract will be performed, in a standardised way across the EU. Every procurement notice states one.
How is it structured?
In levels: NUTS 1 for major regions, NUTS 2 for basic regions and NUTS 3 for small regions, each with a code beginning with the country code.
Why does it matter to suppliers?
It is one of the most useful filters in tender monitoring, since it lets you follow exactly the regions you can serve.
