What Is the Procurement Coordination Directive (Vergabekoordinierungsrichtlinie)?
This is a German procurement term. An older EU directive coordinating procurement procedures.
What was the Vergabekoordinierungsrichtlinie?
Directive 2004/18/EC, which coordinated procurement procedures across the EU until it was replaced by Directive 2014/24/EU.
Why does it still come up?
Older court decisions, commentaries and some terminology refer to it. Much of the current directive's structure derives from it.
What replaced it?
The 2014 package: Directive 2014/24/EU for public procurement, 2014/25/EU for utilities and 2014/23/EU for concessions, implemented in Germany in 2016.
