What Is a Procurement Correction (Hankintaoikaisu, Finland)?
This is a Finnish procurement term. A mechanism letting the contracting authority correct its own decision if a clear error has occurred in it.
Who can start a procurement correction?
Either the authority on its own initiative or a party affected by the decision. It is a lighter route than appealing, as it is handled by the authority itself.
What are the deadlines?
A supplier generally has 14 days from notification to request a correction, and the authority can correct its own decision within a longer period set in the Act. Check the current periods, as they have been amended.
Does it suspend the appeal period to the Market Court?
No. The 14-day appeal period runs in parallel, so a supplier who wants to keep both routes open usually files both.
