What Is Readiness to Tender (Vergabereife, Germany)?
This is a German procurement term. The state in which all preconditions for starting a procedure are met.
What is Vergabereife?
The state in which the buyer has done everything needed to start a procedure: the need is defined, the specification is complete, financing is secured and the necessary permits are in place.
Why does it matter?
A procedure started before readiness often has to be cancelled or changed, which costs bidders their effort and can give rise to claims.
How does it differ from Ausschreibungsreife?
The terms are largely synonymous. Both describe the point at which the project can responsibly be put out to tender.
