What Is a Tender Deadline?
The fixed date and time a complete bid must be submitted by; a late submission is normally rejected regardless of cause.
Can the tender deadline be extended?
Yes. The buyer can extend it, and should do so if it makes significant changes to the documents or provides important information late.
What happens if a bid arrives a few minutes late?
It is normally rejected. Electronic portals record the exact time, so technical problems at the last minute are rarely accepted as an excuse.
How long do suppliers get?
Above threshold, the Act sets minimum tender periods, which vary by procedure. Below threshold, the period must be reasonable for the contract.
