The public market for technical consultants is growing – the regions spend the most on average
Public organisations have increased their spending on technical consultants by 28 per cent in four years. Most of the purchasing was from large technical consultancy firms.
The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) had the highest spending on technical consultancy services in 2022, accounting for 35 per cent of the public technical consultancy market. Yet it was the regions, not the central government agencies, that spent the most on average per organisation per year.
